When Birds Don't Fly
He heard the calling and looked to the skies
A flock of pintails was on the rise
He struggled to follow…but signs of pain
Spoke “stop trying…it’s all in vain”
He yielded and rested aside a cliff
Gazed at wings flapping and said what if
I flew to the horizon and lived to desire
A morning to see, a sunset to admire
From far came back, a friend to say
Fret not and give me, your dismay
I’ll make life smile as hard as it seems
I’ll be your wings, I’ll realize your dreams
